Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality.  Baptism usually follows after a person has made a personal decision to be a follower of Christ.

Christian baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.  It also typifies the Christian's death to his/her old life, its burial, and his/her resurrection to walk in a new life with Christ (Romans 6:4-6 and Colossians 2:12).

At North River we emphasize "Believers Baptism," that is, a person has consciously taken a step to become a follower of Christ.  We practice baptism by immersion since that method best communicates the idea of death, burial, and resurrection.

The pastor is always open to discussing baptism with anyone who is interested.  If you have questions or are considering being baptism you may contact him directly at the church or through his email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
